Restart platform without resetting the hardware RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an iMX233 platform with a FPGA connected to the I/O lines. I would like to do a reboot of by platform without resetting the I/O section. As far as I can see all possibilities for software reset or watchdog reset do reset this section also. Is there an other option to reset my platform? (I need to start EBOOT again to start some update procedure, but this can only be done when the FPGA is not reset)

    with kind regards, Maarten

  • I don't have the data sheet for that processor.  You should check to see if it has a way to perform a soft reset.

I have heard of people reseting by jumping to the reset vector, which esentially is jumping back to the start of the bootloader.  I have never tried that myself becuase most processors have a way to do a soft reset.
