Create Task List Workflow with more than one Due Date reminder

    Question

  • Hello

    I have a question about a workflow Business requirement.  For Workflows we use SPD.

    The Workflow should do These requirements:

    • notification if a new Task is created
    • notification 3, 2 and 1 Day before target date if the Task is not done
    • notification every hour on the target date if the Task is not done
    • notification every hour after target date if the Task is not done
    • notification if the task is done

    I have not much expirience with pause Workflows. But i found a few article in WWW who people said, you can have much problems with pause Workflows untill due date.

    Have anybody expirience with a similar workflow requirement?

    Cheers Frank

  • Hi Frank,

    According to your description, to achieve your request “notification 3, 2 and 1 Day before target date if the Task is not done”,

    You could create a workflow associated with the task list by using SharePoint 2010 platform as below and publish:

    Then create an Information Management Policy to repeat this workflow:

    Task list->list settings->under Permissions and Management ->Information management policy->select the content type-> define a policy->select Enable a retention->add a stage, example:
