Currently I have been implemented it using webHttpbinding with HTTP. I want to configure this to HTTPS.

  • How are you hosting your WCF Rest Service? If it is on IIS then you would need to map the https port on IIS and then browse to the WCF service using https.

Also you would need to remove the baseAddress section if you are hosting on IIS as the address for the service is taken care by IIS.

If you are self hosting then you would need to do a https port mapping using netsh tool as given in the above msdn link posted by "techocrat_aspire".

Your config needs to change the httpGetEnabled to httpsGetEnabled to true and that should be enough to get the server up and running the WCF service on HTTPS.

To access the WCF Service from a jquery by using $.getJSON you need to make sure that the WCF service and the page that is performing the call are in the same domain. Cross domain requests needs to be performed using JSONP
