Microsoft Access Database won't open when macro are enabled RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have some Microsoft access database .accdb files. Till yesterday those file could be opened. Today no one can open them if we click in the option: Macro are disabled. Click here to enable them. If we click and enable macros, the files just "disappear" and the page is blank.  If we let macros disabled the file can be open successfully. Any idea ? We are using Microsoft access 2013.

  • Hi nando,

This forum focuses on general discussion for Office 2013. I notice that your issue is related to Access database. To better fix the issue, I would move the thread to Access forum for more help.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

  • Before doing anything else, make a backup of your database.  Then ...

Have you applied any recent updates?  If so, you could try uninstalling them.

Have you tried an Office Repair (see http://www.devhut.net/2016/09/04/how-to-repair-ms-office/)?

Have you tried Compacting your db?

Have you made any recent changes to the db?

Do you have an AutoExec Macro?  If so step through the macro/code and see if it is causing the issue.

Do you have a startup form?  If so, disable it and see if the db will load.

What about backups, do you have the same issue with a backup copy of your db?

Your description seems like it's having a Trust Location issue. Ask each user to put the Folder in the Options Setting in Access.
