Outlook email address right-click menu RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm working on outlook add-in(Outlook 2003 & 2007) and need some help. What I want to do is: In an email message window(inspector), on right-clicking any email address in the "From:", "To:" or "Cc:" field, I need to find some way to modify the right-click menu for the user to trigger my code.

I've found a lot of references and seems I can't modify or add items in the right-click menu. Could anyone confirm?

In addition, the right-click menu has an item "Additional Actions" but I've not yet succeeded to create one myself. Is it just something to do with the "Actions" page in the design form? Or can I plug in my code here?

It's quite urgent. Any advise would be of great help. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Albert,

This could not be achieved in VSTO. In fact, the popup menu is a Smart Tag not a popup CommanBar. VSTO only supports Smart Tags for code behind a document. But Outlook uses of the email address Smart Tags in an application-level. If you have Eric Carter's Book, you get refer Charpter 16, there is a specific work through about the Add In Smart Tags.
