Network Load Balancing Same Source VIP RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using two Windows Server 2008 boxes set up in a cluster as a proxy server (TMG) for our internal network. We have a stateful firewall in front of our proxy cluster in between our internal users and the proxy server. We are wanting all of our HTTP and HTTPS packets to be destined to the VIP on the initial request and to be sourced FROM the VIP on the return trip. Is there a way to make it so all traffic on the return trip (back to the internal user) has a source IP address of the VIP instead of the two actual servers in the cluster?

In other words if ProxyServerA (at 10.1.1.1) and ProxyServerB (at 10.2.2.2) are load balancing between eachother with a virtual IP address (VIP) of 10.3.3.3 is there a way to ensure that all traffic destined back to the users has a source IP address of 10.3.3.3 instead of 10.1.1.1 or 10.2.2.2?

    Thanks in advance!
