Cannot detect Trial Mode with Unity 5

    Question

  • My game is made on Unity 5, and I cannot detect if it is running on trial mode.

I tried the native Unity http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/ScriptReference/Windows.LicenseInformation-isOnAppTrial.html and the Prime31 alternative isInTrialMode() but both always return false to me.

Even after I download my game from Store on Trial Mode (tested with several accounts).

Anybody here faced the same problem?

If anybody could please try it, in trial mode the "Unlock Now" button should be visible on main menu instead of the "Visit Us" button.

If can also press 'Right Control' anytime on mainmenu and it will show the current "isOnTrialMode()" result.

  • Hello,

Any luck with this and the latest version of Unity 5?  I'm traveling and will test the game this weekend.  In the meantime I found this post by colleague Jason Fox that may be helpful:

UPDATE:  I tested your game and trial mode is working as the "Unlock Now" button is visible.

    Best,
    Jason
