Event ID 137 in Application Log RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    I'm getting this error in the application log. I know it is related to not having email set up in Reporting Services but we do not want it set up. We only want them to have the option of Windows File Share for subscriptions. Is there any way to modify the config file so that it wont' generate this error in the Eventlog? Below is the exact error.

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Report Server (MSSQLSERVER)
    Event Category: Management
    Event ID: 137
    Date:  11/18/2008
    Time:  10:20:55 AM
    User:  N/A
    Computer: SERVERNAME
    Description:
    The Report Server Email extension failed to read its configuration settings from the RSReportServer.config configuration file. The extension is not available to users.

  • Hi,

    If you don’t set up the e-mail delivery, use the following e-mail extension settings in the repoert rsreportserver.config file which is located in :\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.n\Reporting Services\ReportServer.

    Code Snippet
    <Extension Name="Report Server Email" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.EmailDeliveryProvider.EmailProvider,ReportingServicesEmailDeliveryProvider">
        <MaxRetries>3</MaxRetries>
        <SecondsBeforeRetry>900</SecondsBeforeRetry>
        <Configuration>
         <RSEmailDPConfiguration>
          <SMTPServer></SMTPServer>
          <SMTPServerPort></SMTPServerPort>
          <SMTPAccountName></SMTPAccountName>
          <SMTPConnectionTimeout></SMTPConnectionTimeout>
          <SMTPServerPickupDirectory></SMTPServerPickupDirectory>
          <SMTPUseSSL></SMTPUseSSL>
          <SendUsing>1</SendUsing>
          <SMTPAuthenticate></SMTPAuthenticate>
          <From> </From>
          <EmbeddedRenderFormats>
           <RenderingExtension>MHTML</RenderingExtension>
          </EmbeddedRenderFormats>
          <PrivilegedUserRenderFormats></PrivilegedUserRenderFormats>
          <ExcludedRenderFormats>
