After upgrade to 2008 R2 a working app error on "Automation server can't create object" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have an application which have run fine for several years but stopped with 800A01AD (can't create object) error after upgrading our servers to 2008 R2. This automation object comes from a DLL file which we do not control but have bought from an external vendor.

I took the CreateObject line out of the app and created a very simple VBS file to test with.

The VBS file runs fine using the 32-bits wscript.exe in SYSWOW64 folder but not in the 64-bits version.

The application runs inside a Lotus Domino server (as an agent) which, ofcourse, runs in the 64-bits environment of the win server

How can I overcome this hurdle?
Should I place the DLL file in a specific location of the server?
SHould I registry the DLL in any specific way?

    Thankyou in advance!
