Smallbasic Shapes / Image library RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a Smallbasic Shapes / Image Library.

    I see lines like - player = Shapes.AddImage("http://smallbasic.com/drop/Asteroids_Ship.png")

Are the images created and loaded into the library

    thanks in advance

  • There is no SmallBasic images library.  An image needs to either be uploaded by a user to some web location or loaded from a local disc.

In the case you are looking at, this is a web upload which was added by a MS employee.  That is some who has permission (passwords etc) to upload to this location.

So to use images you need to:

1] create the image yourself in some way.

2] Upload it to some web location you have permission to (there are free web hosting sites) or load the file from a local folder.

3] To share you program if you are using local image files, then you need to provide these in a zip for users to download.  The advantage of using a web location is you don't need to supply the files separately, but they can be slow to download each time the program is run and you need some web hosting location.
