Azure Data Lake Gen2 Support RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can someone advise when or if Azure Data Lake Analytics will support ADL Gen 2?  Currently, it only supports Gen1  However, we need ADLA functionality with Gen2.  Actually, lots of current customers using the Gen1 platform won't migrate to Gen2 because ADLA support is currently missing.  Changing processes over to Databracks, HDInsight, etc may not provide the same functionality or may even be overkill.

  • Hi William Shoap,

As far as I noticed, there is no specific ETA to support ADLA-ADLS Gen2 interoperability. I have reached out to the internal team to check on this query. Will keep posted once I have an update.

Thanks much for sharing your feedback in ADLA user voice forum.

    Thank you

  • Hi William,

Unfortunately, we do not have plans to support ADLA-ADLS Gen2 interoperability.

ADLA does not work with ADLS Gen2. We recommend that customers to use Azure Databricks or Azure HDInsight instead of ADLA when working with ADLS Gen2.
