BAM SSIS package error RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have started receiving below error all of sudden for BAM SSIS package

Executing the query "EXEC [dbo].[bam_Metadata_SpawnPartition] N'EsbExce..." failed with the following error: "RegenerateViews_ViewDefinitionTooLong". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

We have scheduled the SQL job run every day and I see there are too many partition tables got created. The online window for BAM archive is 6 months.

When I did some research , found that this error is received when the SQL job is executed more frequently.

I would like to know if I change the schedule of the job to run monthly (once a month), will it help to get rid of the failure ?

When should I schedule the next execution of the job ? After 1 month ?

Which job removes the partition tables ? Is it the same BAM SSIS package ?

  • Hi Amita,

Thank you for posting on MSDN forum.

Do NOT configure your BAM SSIS packages execute too frequently. If online window is 6 months, then running the packages weekly should be appropriate setting.

Please have a look into below blog post where similar issue discussed and solution provided,

    BAM SSIS Error: "RegenerateViews_ViewDefinitionTooLong"

    Thanks

  • So adding more buffers will solve the issue ? I am also going to update the schedule to run it once a month .
