Error 2019 Member Mapping specified in not valid RRS feed

    I have entity create as database first.

    during developing, I want to change data type of a field from numeric (18, 0) to int.

    I change the field in sql server, in edmx page, I choose update model from database, save all.

    During the compilation, I got Error 2019 Member Mapping specified in not valid error, stating Edm.Decimal of member is not compatible with SqlServer.Int type

    however, it seems the compilation go through despite the error

    please help

    Hi Cheng ,

    For your problem ,I think the problem is  that your conceptual model has a property defined as decimal first,when you generate your model from database first,while in your update your table ,and your conceptual model will not change if you modify DB side,even if you perform the

    “update model from datatbase” ,so I suggest that you can  click on your entity on edmx,and right click on the model,choose the properties,set the type of your property as “Int32”,corresponding to your sql server type.
