Question about Azure Media player RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello there,

We are using Azure Media player(AMP) to playback 1080p single bitrate video on iOS11/12(iphone 6/7/8). However after push *PLAY* button(big one on the player), it enter into iOS' native player, then the video couldn't be played(have sound, but blackscreen(no picture)).

Does anyone know how to avoid to enter into iOS' native player after push the big *PLAY* button?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ying

  • Does a lower bitrate work?  What about multiple bitrate encoded videos?  Most commonly when you hear audio but see no video it is because the client player does not have enough bandwidth.

  • Hi David,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

A lower bitrate(like 1280x720) work, and also multiple bitrate works fine.

Maybe the bandwidth caused it. For FHD(1920x1080), it seems it's better to use multiple bitrate.

  • Generally I only recommend single bit rates if you are doing local playback.  Any time a network is involved, especially across the Internet, multiple bitrates are almost always preferred.  Additionally, using multiple bitrates allows for quicker startup time as well as seek time since usually the first packet is a lower bitrate and can be transferred more quickly.
