How do I get Vector4 info for all of the passive/position-Only skeletons in view? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Kinect documentation states:

For all returned skeletons, the following data is provided:

    •    A position (of type Vector4) that indicates the center of mass for that player. This value is the only available positional value for passive players.

    •    For the passively tracked players, returned data includes only basic positional and identification data, and no skeletal data.

So, how does one get this Vector4 data for all of the passive/Positon-only skeletons? Will this include x,y,z, and w(confidence) data?

Answers

  • For each of the passively tracked players, the positional center of mass data is avaiable in NUI_SKELETON_DATA.Position.

It includex x,y and z data. FYI, w data does not represent confidence but rather (From installed KinectSDK.chm): "For the floor plane, the W value is the distance from the plane to the origin. For all other vectors, this value is 1.0."
