Upgrade Server 2000 to Server 2003: Report Does Not Exists RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our SQL Reporting is no longer working.
    We performed the following changes:

    Old System:
    Windows Server 2000
    SQL Server 2000

    New System:
    Windows Server 2003 (UPGRADE)
    SQL Server 2000

The SQL 2000 Database is working fine for all of our applications; however, the reporting services are not working.  The following error is returned:

    System.Exception: Report does not exists.

After a Windows Server 2003 upgrade do some settings (or permissions) need to be tweaked?

  • Hi Meh,

A lot can happen during OS upgrade. IIS version is probably the biggest change. You don't mention if RS is on the same bug as SQL, but I am assuming that is true.

Start by looking at the RS log files. Then look in IIS manager to make sure all of the settings and virtual directories for RS are set correctly. Using the rsconfig tool can fix settings.

If you cannot diagnose, you can try this forum: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/threads/

They will want log file information and any other data you can provide. "System.Exception: Report does not exists." is not enough information to figure things out.
