• Hi All,

When needing to use SSIS DQS component to clean thousands (or millions throughout the year) of records, what would you suggest regarding the architecture.

    - Same server hosting SSIS and DQS?

    - DQS and SQL Server 2012 in the same server? SSIS as standalone?

    - Other

    Thank you

  • Hello,

There is no such recommendation on whether to install Data Quality Server and SSIS on the same or different computers. However, please bear in mind that if you are cleansing large amount of data using a SSIS package containing DQS Cleansing component that is running on a different computer than the one where Data Quality Server is installed, it might affect the performance if your network is slow. This is because DQS uses extensive network resources to move large amounts of data during the cleansing operation.

Have you checked the DQS Performance Best Practices Guide? Along with all the good information on how to ensure best performance from DQS, it also has a dedicated section on Cleansing with SSIS that provides valuable information on getting best performance when using SSIS packages for cleansing. Download the guide from here.
