Want to Have my PocketPC come up as an actual drive - after I connect RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Many of customers can't seem to sort out their troubles with Activesync.  They often allow their devices to run out of battery and thereby lose their 'Partnership' information with ActiveSync.

I want to bypass the whole Activesync mess by simply having the  users plug in their devices and then the connecting PC treats the device as a separate 'usb' type of drive.  THEN, our application can upload and download the collected data files for processing on our Desktop application.

Does anyone know of a way of bypassing ActiveSync in this manner ?

  • Some devices can be configured as a mass storage devices, yes. Usually only storage card is visible this way though. So that probably not going to do you any good.

BTW, WM devices which would lose information on empty battery are not produced for years. WM 5 (now obsolete) and newer WM 6/6.1 devices store information in flash and won't loose there partnership information.
