  • I PUBLISHED SUCCESS A WP7.1 App - now I have ready appx file for WP8 App - is any way Publish under same name?

  • so meant have two app files

    app.xap  wp7

    app.appx  wp8

    ? correct?

    In case apps differ somehow due to wp8 more advanced features work... and needed differ description what to do?

  • Yes , you can upload difference packages for the same application, different package have different description.

    And I noticed that your app is Windows Phone 8.1 Windows Runtime, because you said appx package , you should do these steps first

  • As a general rule, it is better to use “Add” package when adding support for a new OS, and “Replace” only when servicing an existing package. Guidance for app package management will provide additional info on managing your updates and packages moving forward. Since you are wanting to add Windows Phone 8.1 support, you will need to take the steps to reserve an app name if you have not done so already under the app submission in question.
