Uploading a bacpac file

    Question

  • I need to upload a bacpac file to my storage so that I can apply it to my SQL Azure. But I cant find where I can do this. What am I doing wrong?

  • Okay, I think I've found it!!

    In the Management Portal:

    - click on the Database Server

    - Then click on the Manage button in the Server section. This will open the SQL Azure Management Protal

    - Log in.

    - Click on the Deploy button, and follow the instructions.

  • if i understand you correctly, you have a bacpac of your local database on your machine. In that case you use third party tools for azure storage to upload that bacpac file on azure storage.

    BTW: Today at SQLPASS 2011, during the keynote, they showed the facility to upload bacpac's to cloud directly from the tool.

  • You are correct.

    To be honest, I am new to all of this. I dont understand why I have storage, but cannot navigate through the files in the storage in an explorer type view.

  • This method you suggests is looking for a dacpac file not a bacpac.
