Custom Application/DB integration RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Does Sharepoint have a service that allows me to develop a custom input form and pass the collected data to a Sql Server Database?

We have information that is controlled by multiple applications some of those apps control the values in the list items while other applications use the list items to build their component data.

    My Goal:

Develop a form that has lists reflecting the values from our database.

Collect additional information which is then passed to our custom database.

  • SharePoint supports InfoPath Forms.  InfoPath Forms can be opened in the client or as a web page hosted in SharePoint using Forms Server.  Either way InfoPath is capable of submitting collected data to a list, SQL Server, or to a web service.
