Outlook add-in icons do not appear RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an Outlook add-in that is side-loaded in Office 365 and distributed via a centralized deployment. The add-in icon URL which is defined in the manifest is not used in Outlook (but appears normally in OWA), and is instead replaced by the default "blue hexagons" icon.

When Outlook loads, the manifest is correctly cached in \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef but no resource files are cached in \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef\Resources. The icon being served does not contain a cache-control header (though it does contain an entity tag). Is there a setting in Outlook or Exchange to block/unblock this caching, or another potential problem I'm missing?

  • Having the same problem. DisableCachingOfSSLPages set to 0 worked for me. But I'm not able to revert the situation back to not displaying the icons again by setting it back to 1.

    Registry Path Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
