Installing SSL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Sorry if the question appears to have been answered, but I couldn't find the answers in the forum.

I have my website hosted on Azure, and I am trying to SSL it. All I have is just the CRT file, don't have access to the Key file. Register.com gives you only the CRT file. Azure instructions say a "pfx" file format is required, and I am unable to convert CRT -> PFX because of the missing key.

    Any suggestions would help.

    Thanks

Answers

  • Hi,

Import the CRT file into the cert store on the computer where you generated the certificate request. You will then be able to export the certificate again with the private key. That should result in a password protected PFX file that you could use on any other computer, including Azure Web Sites.

I hope this answer your question :)
