  • Question

  • Tools : Power Query (last version) and Excel 2016.

I Would like to prepare my dimension based on user inputs.

the "custom" is calculated (suppression of number, proper function, and trim) to prepare and become the value of dimension.

    New Level 0 Custom
    18.2.1.1.2.1 Xperio Xperio
    18.2.1.1.2.1 Xperio Xperio
    18.1.1.2.3.1 Xperio React Xperio
    18.1.1.2.3.1 Xperio React Xperio
    18.1.1.2.4.1 Xperio Transitions Sunwear Xperio
    18.1.1.2.4.1 Xperio Transitions Sunwear Xperio
    18.2.1.1.2.1 Xperio Brown Xperio
    18.2.1.1.2.1 Xperio Grey Xperio
18.1.1.2.3.1 Xperio React Brown Xperio React
18.1.1.2.3.1 Xperio React Grey Xperio React
18.1.1.2.4.1 Xperio Transitions Sunwear Brown Xperio Transitions Sunwear
18.1.1.2.4.1 Xperio Transitions Sunwear Grey Xperio Transitions Sunwear

After a grouping data Cutsom I have Double Xperio value like that

    Custom Nombre
    Xperio 6
    Xperio 2
    Xperio React 2
    Xperio Transitions Sunwear 2

    Have an Idea ?

  • Could you try adding a visible character at the end of the column in Power Pivot? You probably have a non-visible character at the end of one of the Xperios. Trimming should remove spaces, but other non-visible character could remain.

  • You are surely right,

This is what I'm thinking about after a sleepy reflexion night. I was more oriented on specific font that convert specific symbol (accent or stuff like that) after uppering or lowering.

I am going to check that this morning.

    Thanks Darren

  • Bingo !

It was an uggly name xperio ending with a blank. Sure that it can't be in the same resulting group.

Such a trap after all these year of algorithmic..... Damned !

Thanks Darren to borrow me your eyes for a while !
