Change and rename default data file in Outlook 2010 programatically. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. I've got 2 data files in Outlook (first named Outlook and the second named Others). The Outlook data file is default. Is this possible to set "Others" data file  default and then change name "Outlook" to something else programatically always when Outlook application starts (as an Outlook add-in)?

  • Outlook restart would be required.

You can set the Store as default using Extended MAPI (MAPISession.SetDefaultStore) or Redemption (RDOStore.Default)

To change a PST store name, you can, again, use Extended MAPI to set the PR_DISPLAY_NAME property (Store.PropertyAccessor in OOM won't work) or use Redemption (RDOStore.Name).

  • Hi PaweIM,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

For your problem, I think the Outlook for Developer forum is more appropriate, so I will move your thread to that forum for better support.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.
