VSTO - How to add a virtual directory in Outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I'm having a problem, that I can't found nothing about this on Google and here.

I'm developing a AddIn for outlook, but now I need to add a "virtual directory" below de inbox and I not found nothing about how to do that.

    Something like that:

This "directory virtual" have got to catch data from other systems. I only would like to know how to create this "virtual directory".

The only thing that I found was "Obtaining Folder Objects from Folder Paths in Outlook 2007", but isn't this that I want.

    Can someone help-me?

    Thanks for your attention.

  • Outlook has no support at all for what you want. You'd need to create a standard folder and perhaps display items in a Web page (Folder.WebViewURL) on a grid, or something like that. Otherwise you'd need to create Outlook items to display there.

  • Hi,

I think what you need is a custom MAPI store provider.

But I never had implemented one.

  • Ken and Helmut thanks for your replies,
I'm going to study about this, the only thing that can't happen is to store the documents into the pst file.
If I find something I will post here, for while any help or suggestions will be welcome.
    Thanks again :)
