  • Hello SaraZC,

Of course, the simplest thing is to try searching on the web. But Microsoft introduced the Events and Errors Message Center recently. So, now you can easily find the meaning of your error.

  • According to Exchange Error lookup:

    # as an HRESULT: Severity: FAILURE (1), Facility: 0x7, Code 0x2efd
    # for hex 0x2efd / decimal 12029 :
      ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT                                 inetmsg.h
      ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT                                 wininet.h
    # 2 matches found for "0x80072EFD"

  • Can you be more specific? Are you just trying to map some particular error codes to the messages you want to be displaying to an end user? Or just curious what a particular error means?

    1. Does load Exchange error utility lookup from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=985

    2. If you are using OutlookSpy, click "Error Code Lookup" button on the OutlookSpy ribbon.

  • SaraZC,

Did you have a chance to look at the Events and Errors Message Center or just searching on the web? Did you find something meaningful?
