My DVD/CD Combo drive dissapears

  • after drivers or windows update my drive is not recognized or accessible from the OS

    Thank you for posting your feedback, we want to make sure we get the right info including your log files.  Can you also submit feedback using the Windows Feedback Tool from the Connect Site associated with your Windows Developer Preview program?   • oh yes and under the power setting the hard drives are set to turn off

    I thought that was not a good thing but I don't know

    have you tried going into device manager?
    I love testing out very buggy systems. Favorite OS: Windows Whistler. Consoles: Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, Gamecube, PC

    go into device manager and click on "Disk Management" what shows up?

  • it is not recognized by windows but my bios does

  • Same here. It does not showing up in device manager either.

    I also have looked at the upper filter and lower filter in regedit, they are not there.

    The drive is plugged into ata channel 4 and is regconized by my bios, but not window
