Workflow stopped to start, when access to Sharepoint through external adress RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have MOSS, used in intranet. I created some workflow, which has worked without any problems. Lately, sharepoint gained external access through VPN. The old adress is like: http://portal, now you can also get there by https://portal.companyname.com

Unfortunately, workflow is not starting now (when run through external adress). When I connect using http://portal, everything is ok.

Second problem is with Outlook, when I try to connect some calendar list to Outlook, using new site, it's not working.

Outlook shows error: "Task 'SharePoint' reported error (0x80070005) : 'You do not have permission to view this SharePoint List HTTP 302 "

It look like, I've managed to solve first problem. I added new internet entry (http://portal.comapnyname.com) in mapping alternate access and workflow's stared working

Still, I can't struggling with Outlook problem :/

  • Hi simon17,

For your first question, did you receive any tips or error message? And can you start the workflow manually? If you can’t, I suggest you to ensure there are default values for all of your initiation parameters.

For the second question, maybe you can solve it through the following method:

    1.       Go into SharePoint Central Administration

    2.       Go to Operations

    3.       Under Global Configuration, select Alternate access mappings

    4.       Choose your Alternate Access Mapping Collection from the dropdown

    5.       Make the Default zone your new DNS name, including if it’s SSL’ed or not

    Thanks & Regards,

    Peng Lei
