New build of the Bing Maps SDK for Windows 8 RTM build is available RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • We have released a Beta version of the Bing Maps that will run on Windows 8 RTM builds.  You can check out the new build here:

This build will has many bug fixes, performance and stress improvements and is enabled for ARM processors.  There is one caveat with this release.  It is not supported for submitting apps to the Windows Store.  We are finalizing the SDK and will have something ready by the end of September in order for you to get your apps out on Day 0 of the Windows 8 launch.  We will be disabling this build after we release our RTM build so you need to make sure you get the latest updates and recompile your apps before submitting to the Store or they will fail certification.

For those that are still developing on the RP version of Windows 8, you can still get the SDK at the original location here:

    Thanks

  • Can you remove the BETA watermark please?  Clients have seen our PoC under Release Preview where that version of the Bing Maps SDK looked clean, and now we are forced to show them that eyesore of a watermark on RTM.  Is there any way this can be disabled, or made less prominent?
