Content Type Publishing and https RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I'm testing content type publishing on our SharePoint 2013 on premise environment.

Content type publishing has been configured in the passed and all worked fine. But at that time we were working under http. Now we have passed to https and we get an error when trying to publish an new content type.

I go into the "Manage publishing for this content type" section of my content type, check "Publish" (only option available) and after clicking "OK" I get "No valid proxy can be found to do this operation."

All timerjob and setting are ok on server side.

When we try it on the SharePoint server itself under http there's no problem.

So is there a problem using content type publishing under https? Or do we need to configure something on our servers?

  • Hi,

If you set http URL in Managed Metadata service application, you’ll be unable to publish content type in https site and get an error like “No valid proxy can be found”.

Please try to set https URL in Managed Metadata service application.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

According to the error message, it seems that the managed metadata service isn’t wired up to the content type hub you created, so you can’t publish.

Did you configure AAM (https) for the old content type hub? Or create a new https content type hub?

How did you set the content type hub URL for managed metadata service application? Http or https?

    Thanks,

    Dean Wang

  • Hi, the content type hub for managed metadata is setup with a http url. Because traffic between the different servers is under http. Client- server traffic is under https.
