  • how to detect and find the rotation angle if the skeleton tracked has turned 180 degrees to kinect inside unity3d ?

  • You can check if the face tracker can identify a face but this will only give you conclusive data for a small subset of poses.

    So more ideas are definitely welcome!

  • You can always calculate the plane generated by both shoulders since lock on will occur only when the person is always facing the sensor. The Z component of the orientation of the joint will also gives the normal/facing direction of those joints. So if you track them over time and they approach the perpendicular angle to the sensor, you might want to provide a UI or some interrupt mechanism to ask that they face the sensor again to "recalibrate'

  • Good suggestion but that won't flip around when the person is facing away from the sensor of course.
