Elastic Pool RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our elastic pool has grown and keeps growing without reusing its allocated space.

Looing at the imag, you can see that we have 53Gb used pace, 102Gb allocated  and had to increase it to 153Gb to keep using it as it hit an exception:'The elastic pool has reached its storage limit. The storage usage for the elastic pool cannot exceed (105472) MBs.'

We are now in the process of running manual shrinks for some of the database.
We have also notice the Log Space allocated to be of 45.9Gb which sounds incredibly large.
Checking individual datases, their logs seem small, so we can't understand why this log is so big.

We need to understand how to manage better our elastic pool regrading data usage and allocated.

Could you please ellaborate on wha what the log space allocated part is, how it can be managed and what other tools we have and can use in order to manage our databases.
