Does anyone know if this book is primarily a web forms book? I start my new role as a web developer, using the MVC Framework, so don't want to buy a book that is largely based around getting the most out of web forms.

    Cheers

    If you mean this book:

Then it looks like it is a webforms focused book but does have a chapter covering MVC.

I haven't learned MVC yet and I cant remember which technologies but you can still use a lot of what is traditionally webforms based technologies in MVC (masterpages for example). If you are just starting out then you should be looking for MVC 2 books as this the latest version.

Yes, the other reply is correct, this is primarily a webforms book with a chapter on MVC. If you need a 100% MVC book, it's a little further out on the schedule:

    http://www.amazon.com/Professional-ASP-NET-MVC-John-Galloway/dp/0470643188

it should be available by the end of June.

Cheers chaps. I've grabbed a copy of beginning asp.net 1.0. According to another thread it will all be transferrable to mvc 2.0. So when those books come out I can grab the professional book for the 2.0 series.

    Thanks for your contributions.
