WCF service access across a network RRS feed

  • how can you access a service generated on one machine on another machine i am using self hosted service

    URGENT please do tell

  • There really is no such thing as a self hosted service.  A client connects to the service using an IP address and Port number.  You should be able to connect any client on any PC to the service provided the following

    1) You have a route from the client PC to the Server PC.  You should be able to confirm this using the cmd.exe command PING.

    2) There is no firewalls blcoking the connection.  The firewalls usally block by port number.

    3) You have the correct credentials

    4) If a certificate is required, the certificate is loaded on the client PC.

    5) The VS application software is installed on the client.
