SSMS - 64 Bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) - 64 bit download?

When I try to import Excel inside of SSMS it fails.

I have to go outside SSMS and select the Import 64 bit shortcut.

    I am using Excel 2016 64 bit.

    Thanks.

  • If you want to download 64 bit version browse below link and click on download then scroll down and you would fins both 32 and 64 bit version of SSMS. This link is for SSMS 2014

  • This link will send you to Microsoft® SQL Server® 2014 Express download page

    (not to SSMS 64 bits...)

    - Express 64BIT\SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe

    - ExpressAdv 64BIT\SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe

    Sorry

  • SSMS is only as 32 bit application available; see Download SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

  • SQL Management Studio is a 32 bit application

If you want to do Excel import through export import wizard in SSMS, you need to get 32 bit version of Excel 2016 driver installed.

  • I had exactly the same issue.  You can install 32bit Access 2013 Runtime from Microsoft download center with the link below, and in SSMS when importing Excel file, you have to select 2013 as Excel Version.
