Using Crystal Reports ReportClientDocument RRS feed

    Hi Guys,

Looking to find the standard for using "the Crystal Reports RAS API without a RAS server" option.  By the option, I mean using RAS API in-process and create ReportClientDocument object directly like the below code.

Dim cRptDoc As ReportClientDocument = New ReportClientDocumentClass()
Dim reportPathAsObject As Object = CType("C:\workspace\EIClient\EIReporting\Completed.rpt", Object)

    cRptDoc.Open(reportPathAsObject, 0)

But when I run these three lines of code,  open() method is throwing exception saying "Enterprise Report Application Server not found".  Did any one know why is this happening?.

I am using Visual Studio 2008 and Crystal Reports 10.5(Which comes with Visual Studio).

For reference about the option check:  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms225325(v=vs.90).aspx

    Thanks,

    VckReddy.

Finally foung the standard way to get ReportClientDocument from ReportDocument for manipulating the crystal report.

Dim cryRpt As ReportDocument = New ReportDocument()

    cRptDoc.Load("C:\Reports\Client.rpt")

Dim doc As ISCDReportClientDocument = cryRpt.ReportClientDocument

Once we get this ReportClientDocument we can use this to manipulate the report.
