Cached Elements and State Management RRS feed

  • Question

  • Looking for feedback regarding additional methods to control cached entries. With respect to caching and state management, utilizing stored information from the cache is obviously a faster and more effective method than having to dip into the database time and again. However, due to the fact that data in a cache could become invalid after a period of time has elapsed necessitates greater functioning control over what is accessible there. I am already familiar with creating an absolute expiration time for elements and have utilized setting up dependencies between cached items and their sources. Initializing callback functions to be utilized when other items have been removed has worked, as well. I was hoping to garner feedback with respect to other methods for controlling cached entries. Thanks a lot.

  • Hi,

Not sure if you are looking at a database level solution here, but one of the things that you could look at is using SQLCacheDependency
