Invalid code value for BPR04 element in EDI 820 RRS feed

  • Question

  • This is what I'm getting from the bank on 820, the X12 version is 003030:

    BPR*C*7606.74*C*DCC*CCD*01*01100013......

Getting parser error: Invalid code value on BPR04. I'm assuming DCC is not correct, or may be in combination with C in BPR03 it

    s invalid.

My question is, how would I find out the acceptable values? I'm looking at the schema in my project and cannot locate this information. May be there is a good website I can refer to.

    Thanks!

  • Locate the BPR Segment in the 820, it's the second one, right after ST.

On the property page check the Enumerations collection.

You will see that DCC is not on the list.

The enum is actually defined on the 591 X12 type which you'll find down near to bottom of the schema.

    You have two options here:

    1. Have the trading partner send a valid code.
    2. Add DCC to the E collection of allowed values.
