How to programmatically check NET Http - Activation and Non-Http Activation on Windows Server 2012 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to detect if WCF Http/Non-Http Activation Components is installed during the installation of my product(using Dism) on Windows Server 2012 R2  How can I do so?

    1. Hi I created  this WCF Http/Non-Http Activation using Dism.exe .

    2. We tried to read registry state

       SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ServerManager\ServicingStorage\ServerComponentCache\NET-HTTP-Activation - Its value not reflecting (0).

Note: this state is reflecting only if we open Windows Features dialog

Any other way to get state programmatically?

  • Hi CTI.Ananthan,

In my mind, maybe you can use the Get-WindowsFeature powershell commandlet. For example if you want to check if WCF Http/Non-Http Activation Components is installed on your Windows Server 2012 R2, you can try to use the following code:

    $wcfActivationFeature = Get-WindowsFeature -name NET-WCF-HTTP-Activation45
