BYOD - an ADFS in azure is it needed ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello ,

We are in the process of moving all servers into azure , and deploying BYOD infrastructure hence no need for clients machine to be joined to the domain “obviously”

My question is , if my clients are non-domain joined ? why do I need to deploy ADFS in azure at all ? since no on premise servers anyways

  • if the requirement is such that these devices need to connect to the cloud-hosted servers / services, than yes they need to be authorized & authenticated anyways. now if all servers have been moved on to azure, including ADFS than yes you will need ADFS on Azure as well so that these devices continue to work.

if these devices do NOT need to access such resources than you are right, there will be no need of ADFS BUT again this MAY be required for other services to work in your organization! Please make sure of this once.

    hope this helps!
