Bing Maps v7 - Distance Metric RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

on which metric are returned the distance values in the v7 sdk?

    Miles? Km?

There is some official documentation about this issue?

    Thank you a lot,

    Marco

  • I'm assuming you are using the DirectionsManager. In this case the distance units by default units are based on the culture parameter used when loading the map. For instance, if you load the map without setting a culture it defaults to en-US which uses miles. If you set the culture to en-CA (Canadian English) then km are used. This is documented here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh312839.aspx

  • Thank you Ricky,

yes I'm using the DirectionsManager, sorry.

Supposing I'm using the Spatial Data Service instead, it's valid the same for the property "__distance"?

Can I use the RegionInfo.IsMetric property (System.Globalization) to know which country use metric or imperial?

    Thanks,
