how to save depth data within in a specific time frame (10 minutes or more)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was wondering is their an api to go along with kinect studio for saving kinect depth data inside my program? Or is their an api that helps me to save depth data for a period of time?

Also, I could set a timer and just capture depth data or skeleton data for a period of time but how unique would that data be for the skeleton tracking method? I think i would have instances where skeleton data would not be as unique compared to depth data.

If the data is the same for all gestures then I might have a problem.

I have tryed the kinectdtw project but it frustrates me to try and get 30 frames per second. I need a code solution not an application for gesture recogition. I will be needing to save depth data or skeleton data for a gesture performed during a certain period of time but trying depth data.

  • At this time, there is no way to extend Kinect Studio or the file format. The product team is looking at the possiblity, but nothing concrete at this time.
