32 bit application on 64 bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have an application using 32 bit interop Com components.

So to run on 64 bit I have to force the build by setting platform = x86

Do you see any problem in doing this (force an application on 64 bit os to work on 32 bit ) ...?

    Regards

  • No.  This is very standard practice.  It will force the application to run under WOW64, which works perfectly well.

  • Yes, there will be issues, if your component is called directly from a 64 bit process. The invoking process should be of 32 bit.
