  • Question

  • I was just following their lab on linq to sql and one of their instructions was like the picture below:

    1. Create the DinnerNowVS2008Labs database connection. To do this, perform the following steps:
      1. Click the View menu and then click Server Explorer.
      2. Right-click Data Connections and then click Add Connection.
      3. Choose Microsoft SQL Server as the Data Source, .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server as the Data Provider, check the option Always use this selection and click Continue.
      4. Enter DinnerNowVS2008Labs as the Server name and connect to the database LinqToSqlLab.
      5. Click OK.

However what I am confused is where to find the database LinqToSqlLab.. I can't find it anywhere. It should be a .mdf file right??

  • No.  There is an instance of SQL Server running on the machine and you're being instructed to connect to it for the Lab.
