Problems with Kinect for Windows v2

Question
-
Can someone please help me. I have the Kinect for Windows v2 sensor and have set it up on a new Toshiba s50-b-12w laptop. The verifier tool gives me an exclamation mark regarding the usb 3.0 controller. I have 2 usb 3.0 ports on the laptop. The problem i am experiencing is that the Kinect Studio says that i have no sensor connected and displays a grey screen. Inevitably this means that I cannot use the software. However, when i open the individual parts of the Kinect Fusion software i see what the sensor is scanning and have managed to save a single scan.
I am very new at this and not a very technically minded person, but am able to understand instructions if they are given to me in laymans terms. I find it hard to believe that the laptop is not high spec enough as all other aspects are over-specced if anything.
Please can somebody find me a solution to this if possible. I am not even sure how to contact microsoft directly about this or if this forum question is sufficient to get through to somebody in an official capacity.
I am more than happy to provide more details about the problem, my equipment or anything else that is needed.
I hope to resolve this with some urgency
Many Thanks in advance

Kinect doesn't get on well with all usb 3.0 manufacturers as you can read in this forum post. Maybe you are getting that error on the verifier because of this.
People from Microsoft Kinect team read and post in the forum, I think they (and others) could help you better if you post USB information from your device manager (just write "device manager" in the windows 8 search tool and show content for "universal serial bus" category).

Please provide the specific specs of the machine including GPU and USB3 Host controller details. KStudio requires that you "Connect" to the runtime, this requires that KStudioHostService is running and is not blocked from connecting to the main runtime. There are other threads that discuss this. Additionally, if you intend to use Fusion, you will need a high end GPU NVidia GTX 680/GTX 760/780/970 or AMD 7870/r9 270 or higher.
