ASR Storage Usage RRS feed

  • Question

  • When ASR is replicating a VM up to Azure, does it require storage that matches the VM's provisioned disk capacity, or only the actual consumed space? For example, if a source VM is provisioned with a 100 GB disk partition but only 50 GB of it is in use, will ASR require 100 GB or only 50 GB?

  • ASR no more supports replicating your data to storage accounts, now it's only managed disks. So, irrespective of the size of the disks, asr will replicate the exact sizes of the source VMs as target using managed disk concept.
