How to use .NET framework 4.0 with IIS8.0 on Windows2012 For WCF services RRS feed

  • Question

  • What is correct way of allowing WCF service (*.svc) using .NET framework 4.0 on IIS?

I have tried adding managed handler and script map manually as shown below, but it did not help.

Added Managed Handler with name as svc-Integrated-4.0, and Request path as *.svc and used Type as System.ServiceModel.Activation.ServiceHttpHandlerFactory, System.ServiceModel.Activation, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35

Added Script Map with name as svc-ISAPI-4.0_64bit for Request path as *.svc and executable as C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_isapi.dll

Also when trying registering IIS with ASP.NET framework 4.0, it is not allowing us to do this.

    ServiceModelReg.exe -r -q
    aspnet_regiis.exe -i
    aspnet_regiis.exe -s W3SVC/1/root/MyApp

Note that we do not want to use .NET 3.0 or 4.5.

If this not supported, then is there a way of enabling .net 4.5 WCF services in IIS8 using command line (like we use to do with 3.0 or 4.0 as shown above) ?

Thank you for your time and help on this.
