Extensibility & PowerPoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does anyone know if PowerPoint respects the standard when using the rules around OpenXML's Extensibility rules?
If so, what would be the correct way to add elements and attributes that are custom on a slide?

Prior to this post I have tried to add some elements and attributes based on the spec and received error messages from PowerPoint upon opening it. Using Ignorable and/or PreserveElements methods, both seem to cause errors within the pptx when opening.

I basically need a way of adding custom tagging into a slide in which they describe extra information on a given object like a textbox, image & embedded.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Smile

  • Hi Evan,

I noticed this as well that there are some issues in Office surrounding markup compatibility and extensibility. You should probably post it as a bug in the report center.
