Server Doesn't Respond RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have an Azure Virtual Machine running Windows. It's a dev machine for me so it doesn't get used every day. If I leave it for a couple of days and then try to RDP onto it, I get no response. When I try to ping it, still nothing. When I look in the Azure Portal, everything looks fine. I've fixed the issue at least twice by restarting the machine but there is obviously something wrong which is causing this.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi

Based on my knowledge, when your VM is Windows 10 or Windows 7, the computer would sleep according to your Power Plan. You could not RDP your VM when your VM is sleeping.

Please check your VM’s Power Plan.

Please ensure the turn off the display is Never.

If you still have this problem, you could check boot diagnostics before you restart your VM.

According to boot diagnostics, you could know the status of your VM. It will be useful to solve your problem.

If you still have questions, welcome to post back here. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Walter
